Update on Lebanon Hotel Explosion

The Lebanon, NH Fire Department have released an update on the hotel explosion Christmas Eve.

On December 24, 2019, at approximately 5:15 AM, fire fighters responded to reports of a fire evacuation at the Element Hotel. After entering the building, an explosion occurred. Two fire fighters and eight civilians suffered non-life threatening injuries and were treated at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center before being released.

While an investigation continues, the cause of the the blast does not appear to be criminal. An electrical fire in a mechanical room and a nearby propane leak caused the explosion.

The hotel will remain closed for the foreseeable future while the damage is fixed.
