
A pedestrian was struck and killed Saturday night in Newport, NH, reports e-tickernews of Claremont.
At approximately 7:25 PM, police received multiple reports of a collision between pedestrian and motor vehicle by Yoshi’s Convenience Store. Newport Police, EMS, and Fire officials arrived at the scene to find that Carlton R. Barton, 80, of Newport had been hit crossing the road. Barton suffered several serious injuries and was transported to Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont, before being passing away.
Investigation has revealed that the driver was 33-year-old Jamie L. Fordiani, and that neither speed nor alcohol seemed to be involved.
