Driver Assaults Passenger Leading to Motor Vehicle Accident

Altercation within vehicle leads to accident and arrest, reports the Royalton Vermont State Police.

On January 14, 2020, personnel from the VSP, Hartford Police, and emergency services responded to reports of a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 91 in Hartford, VT. It was found that the driver, Ryan Philbrick, had crashed the car while fighting with a passenger in the vehicle. He also assaulted motorists who stopped to attempt to give assistance. Philbrick was arrested and has been charged with DUI, Negligent Operation, Aggravated Domestic Assault, Simple Assault, and Unlawful Mischief.

He is scheduled to appear in court on February 4.
