Lebanon, NH is considering increasing the legal age to buy tobacco products to 21-and-over, reports the Associated Press.
This would be done under a new ordinance, aimed to take the confusion away from shoppers and business owners. A new federal law went into effect on January 1 making the legal age 21, however, the different laws between local, state, and federal have led to some confusion.
This new ordinance is supported by the mayor, law enforcement, and public health officials.
