NH House Passes Voting, Unemployment Measures

Legislation with the goal of protecting voters and workers during the COVID-19 pandemic has passed the New Hampshire House of Representatives, reports WCAX.

The bill aims to implement permanent changes to NH’s unemployment system for the duration of the pandemic, and would allow workers to take virus-related unpaid leave. Paid leave for virus testing and state-provide PPE (personal protective equipment) for small businesses is also included.

On the voting front, measures to streamline the absentee voting process were also passed.

These bills now go to Governor Chris Sununu for a final decision.
