A local hospital has opened a donor milk depot and dispensary, reports WCAX.
According to the report, Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon has opened the location at its Women’s Health Resource Center. They have partnered with Mother’s Milk Bank Northeast to offer a place where women with excess milk can donate to babies who are in need.
Families who have infants that have been prescribed pasteurized human donor milk can pick it up and take it home.
Babies can currently get milk at 11 NH hospitals, but after leaving, families must travel to dispensaries or arrange shipping from a milk bank.
