Jaffrey Couple Charged in Connection to Killing of Missing Keene Man

A Jaffrey, New Hampshire couple have pleaded not guilty to charges connected to the killing of a Keene man, reports WMUR.

30-year-old Armando Barron has been charged with capital murder for the alleged kidnapping and killing of Jonathan Amerault, 25, of Keene. 31-year-old Brittany Barron, his wife, has been charged with three counts of falsifying evidence associated with the crime.

A police affidavit alleges that Barron assaulted his wife upon discovering that her and Amerault were having an affair. He then allegedly used her cell phone to lure Amerault to Annett Wayside Park in Rindge. The affidavit later states that on Saturday night, the couple traveled to the park, where Armando assaulted Amerault before ordering him into the back of the car, and shooting him.

They then reportedly traveled 200 miles to northern NH, where they decapitated Amerault, wrapped his head in a tarp, and placed it in a grave.

Defense lawyers claim that any of Brittany’s actions were done under her husband’s orders, and fear for her life. According to authorities, she cooperated fully “to the point that she helped solve the crime.” But prosecutors state that she only assisted the investigation after being caught.

The couple are currently being held without bail. If convicted, Armando Barron could spend life in prison.
