Vermont Health Officials Warn Citizens of New Phone Scam

Vermont officials are warning citizens of a new telephone scam.

According to a Facebook post from Green Mountain Power, customers have been reporting that an individual is calling homes, threatening to shut off the call recipient’s power unless a bill is paid immediately. Green Mountain Power states that this is a scam.

Individuals who receive phone calls demanding personal information should hang up immediately.
