Election Results in Claremont

The Eagle Times have reported the results of Claremont, NH’s election today via their Facebook page.

Winning Mayor is Charlene Lovett. Assistant Mayor was rewarded to Allen Damren. The seat of Councilor in Wards I, II, and III respectively are as follows; Andrew O’Hearne, James Contois, and Johnathan Stone. The elected At-Large Councilors are Abigail Kier, Nicholas Koloski, Debora Matteau, and Erica Sweetster.

Congratulations to all elected.

Drug Take Back Day Results

The 18th National Prescription Drug Take Back has been deemed a success.

Over the course of four hours on October 26, the New England Division of the Drug Enforcement Administration collected over 46 tons (92,875 pounds) of expired, unused, unwanted prescription drugs, electronic vaping devices and cartridges across New England. In NH, 12, 266 pounds were brought in while 6,734 were returned in VT.

“Thanks to the public 46 tons of unwanted, expired, unused, unwanted prescription drugs, electronic vaping devices and cartridges have now been taken out of harm’s way across New England,” said DEA Special Agent in Charge Brian D. Boyle.

Suspicious Death in Rockingham

The Westminster State Police Barracks have provided updates on the suspicious death that took place on November, 1, 2019 in Rockingham, VT.

On Friday, 44-year-old Roberto Fonseca-Rivera of Boston, MA was found dead in his delivery truck from what appears to be gunshot wounds. Fonseca-Rivera’s last known location was around 12:15 PM as he was leaving Rutland, VT. Police believe he was shot between 1 and 1:30 PM. An autopsy was scheduled for Sunday the 4th, but no information has currently been released.

Sanders Files for NH Primary

Bernie Sanders has filed for the New Hampshire presidential primary, reports WCAX.

Sanders filed on Halloween this year, paying the thousand dollar fee and filling out the proper paperwork. Sanders is currently the top Democratic candidate in the state according to a recent poll. The Vermont Senator won the state in the 2016 primary.

Sanders becomes the second top-tier Democrat to file, after Pete Buttigieg filed on Wednesday.

Lebanon Woman Charged With Falsifying Evidence

A Lebanon, NH woman has been arrested for falsifying evidence, reports the Lebanon Police Department.

On July 6, 2019, a Lebanon man was found deceased at a residence on Allen Street, allegedly due to an overdose. An investigation into this incident led to Melanie McManamon, 30, of Lebanon.

It is reported that McManamon hid a cell phone from invesigators that contained information regarding the overdose. On October 30, officers arrested the woman, charging her with Falsifying Physical Evidence, a Class B Felony.

She is scheduled to appear in Grafton County Superior Court on November 18, 2019.

Hartford Man Arrested on DLS/DUI

A Hartford, VT man has been charged for DLS and Suspicion of DUI, reports the Royalton Vermont State Police Barracks.

At approximately 5 PM on October 19, 2019, Sergeant Stacy Corliss pulled over a vehicle at the Jiffy Mart in Quechee, VT. Upon investigation, it was found that the driver was 56-year-old Joseph Stone of Hartford, VT. He was found to be under the influence of alcohol.

Stone was then brought to the Hartford Police Department and scheduled to to appear in court on November 11, 2019.

Pence to Visit NH in November

Vice President Mike Pence is scheduled to visit the Granite State on November 7, reports WMUR.

Pence will be in NH to file President Donald Trump’s name for the 2020 NH Primary ballot. Pence is also set to attend and speak at the Politics and Eggs event at the New Hampshire Institution of Politics. To file, Pence (and all other potential filers) will have to pay a thousand dollar fee or submit ten signatures from each of the state’s counties. The filing period opens this Wednesday, and lasts until November 15.

Also filing on the 7th are democratic hopefuls Kamala Harris and Cory Booker.

Kidney Transplant for Claremont Child

The 9-year-old Claremont, NH boy in need of a kidney received his transplant this weekend, reports WMUR.

On Saturday, October 26, 2019, Nymen Koch was given his donor kidney. Koch began getting sick two years ago and was found to have a hereditary disease called Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis.

After a five hour surgery, his parents state that the new kidney is functioning.

Two Men Arrested for Domestic Assault in Springfield

Two Springfield, VT men arrested for alleged domestic assault early Thursday morning, reports the Springfield PD via Facebook.

At approximately 12:20 AM, Officer Deslauriers responded to reports of an altercation at a house on Union Street in Springfield. Investigation revealed the two suspects, Kyle Wallace and Steven Macklin, had injured each other and were both taken into custody. They were charged with alleged domestic assault.

Macklin and Wallace were scheduled to appear in court today.

NH Man Convicted on Voter Fraud

Another New Hampshire man has been charged with voting in numerous states, reports the Attorney General’s office.

Robert A. Bell of Atkinson, NH was convicted Wednesday of voting in both NH and Florida during the same election year. The charge is a Class B Felony, and Bell could be facing anywhere from 3-7 years in prison, and/or up to a $4000 fine.

He could also lose his right to vote. Bell will be sentenced on November 7, 2019.
