Male DHMC Employee NH’s First Confirmed Coronavirus Case

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has reported the state’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus, reports Fosters.com.

The male patient is an employee at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH who recently traveled to Italy, thus exposing himself to the virus. According to Dr. Benjamin Chan, NH’s state epidemiologist, the man is experiencing mild symptoms and remains at home in Grafton County.

Officials state that although it could take several days for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm the state’s test results, they are moving ahead with containment plans.

An incident command center has been set up at DHMC.
