Claremont Man Arrested Following Investigation of Explicit Photo Sharing

A Claremont, New Hampshire man has been arrested following revenge porn accusations, reports Sentinel Source.

On January 10, 2020, a report was filed alleging that Norman Chapman, 29, had allegedly shared nude photos of an ex-girlfriend without her permission. The dissemination of the photos occurred on Facebook and over SMS, reported Keene Police on Thursday. A warrant for Chapman’s arrest was served on Wednesday by the Claremont Police Department following over a month of investigation.

He has been charged with the dissemination of private sexual images.

Police Searching for Suspect Who Fled Hit and Run

Police in Hartford, Vermont are looking for the driver involved in a hit and run, reports WCAX.

At some time Wednesday night, a 65-year-old woman was hit, sustaining minor leg injuries, in front of the Hartford Town Hall. The white vehicle then fled the scene, reportedly heading towards Lebanon, New Hampshire. It will likely have damage to the front bumper.

NH Coronavirus Patient Attended Party Against Quarantine Orders

Despite quarantine, patient diagnosed with New Hampshire’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus attended party, reports NBC 10 Boston.

The patient attended a party Friday at the Engine Room in White River Junction, Vermont, as part of an “invite-only” event. They had been ordered to remain isolated. Now, all members who attended the event have been asked to remain isolated for up to 14 days as the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services investigates further. At the event, NH’s second confirmed coronavirus patient was reportedly “in close contact” with the other patient, prior to their diagnosis. The Engine Room is being sanitized by a professional company, they reported via a Facebook post.

The NH cases are two of 125 confirmed in the United States, with more likely to come.

Fewer Voters Turn Out in VT; Trump, Sanders Win Primary

Voting results are in from Vermont, and and two interesting stats stick out.

WMUR reports that in the 2016 Presidential Primary Election 197,012 VT citizens took the polls, but in 2020 that number shrunk to 196,698. This is a 314 vote drop.

The other major difference is the number of Vermonters who voted Democrat this year. In 2020, 157,649 people voted liberal, a 22,000 vote jump from 2016’s primary. This change correlated to a change in Republican voters as well as 39,049 conservative votes were counted, 23,000 less than before.

Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders won the Democratic Primary in the state, while President Trump easily won the Republican side of the vote.

Springfield Hospitals and Health Centers Split Bankruptcy Plans

VT Digger has reported that Spingfield Hospital, in Springfield, Vt, and health center offshoots are going their separate ways.

Last June, the hospital and health centers filed chapter 11 bankruptcy, and have decided that they will go forward with separate exit plans, and the organizations will now be governed by separate boards. Interim CEO Michael Halstead stated that the split was decided as the best way to continue bankruptcy proceedings. Prior to bankruptcy, Springfield Hospital funneled large sums of money down to the nine health centers and facilities under it, adding up to approximately $3 million dollars since 2017.

The organization recently requested to delay bankruptcy hearings to June 2020, due to mounting fees.

Male DHMC Employee NH’s First Confirmed Coronavirus Case

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has reported the state’s first confirmed case of the coronavirus, reports Fosters.com.

The male patient is an employee at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Hanover, NH who recently traveled to Italy, thus exposing himself to the virus. According to Dr. Benjamin Chan, NH’s state epidemiologist, the man is experiencing mild symptoms and remains at home in Grafton County.

Officials state that although it could take several days for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to confirm the state’s test results, they are moving ahead with containment plans.

An incident command center has been set up at DHMC.

Alleged Child Rapist from NH Apprehended in ME

A Franklin, New Hampshire man has been arrested in Maine following child rape accusations, reports Patch.

38-year-old Russell Shawn Martell Jr was caught by the US Marshals Service in Kittery, ME after they received multiple tips. Reportedly, Marshals from ME, NH and Pennsylvania were on the Martell Jr’s trail. An arrest warrant was filed for him on February 20 after being indicted on seven counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault on a child under the age of 13. The alleged incidents occurred between 2009 and 2014 when Martell Jr lived in Centertown, Missouri.

Martell Jr was taken calmly into custody and transported to York County Jail to be processed and held as a fugitive from justice.

Fourth NH Resident Being Tested for Coronavirus

The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services has reported another person is being tested for the coronavirus, reports WMUR.

The NH resident recently returned from Italy, and upon return developed a fever and respiratory symptoms. This is now the fourth case in the state, with the previous three testing negative. DHHS reports that it has developed coronavirus testing capabilities in the NH Public Health Laboratories. The resident is being isolated and monitored by health officials.

Test results are expected as soon as Monday.

35 Kearsarge Students Asked to Stay Home Following Coronavirus Exposure

The Kearsarge Regional School District has asked 35 students to stay home due to coronavirus exposure, reports Infonh via Facebook.

According to a statement from district Superintendent Winfried Feneberg, the 35 students recently took a trip to Europe, touring France, Italy, and the UK. They state that, “Although COVID-19 is present in Italy, students were in the Lombardy and Veneto region of the country for a very brief period of time and there is no indication that the students were exposed to the virus.” To take caution the district has asked the students not to return to class this week, and to come back on March 9.

In the interim, the students will be able to continue to do their schoolwork through multiple online resources. 

State Police and US Marshals Search for Man Last Seen in Croydon

The NH State Police and US Marshals are seeking help finding a NH man, reports Infonh on their Facebook page.

Douglas Smith, 31, is reportedly wanted on multiple outstanding warrants, including two felony domestic assault charges. He is described as approximately six foot tall, weighing 250 pounds, and having brown eyes and black hair. Smith’s last known location was in Croydon, NH.

According to the report, Smith and several others are believed to be concealing his location from police to prevent or delay his apprehension. The public is asked not to confront Smith if seen, but to contact law enforcement immediately.
